A Womans Body Image – part 1

Women who bare it all in public.

Twenty One years ago marked the turning point for women in New York, when they won their right to be top-free in public. I wonder how a decision like that would effect us in any of our peaceful country towns in Australia. I am really curious to know how each person thinks about the image of a woman in this state of undress in the public arena…but more importantly, to share/discuss how we feel about our own bodies.

I am very grateful that this forward-thinking photographer, Jordan Matter, has given us special permission to display these pictures and stories. Jordan may be contacted via his website at jordanmatter.com

What are your thoughts about the women in these photographs?
Do these images repulse you or inspire you?
What are your thoughts about your own body?
How much do you feel your own body image effects your children or the people who are close to you?

And then there is one final image that made me laugh.

“Breasts aren’t obscene. War in Iraq is obscene!”

To me this one caption sums it all up…but what do you think?
